"Saree" for celebrating
On Oct. 5, 2016, the House of Commons officially named January as Tamil Heritage Month. On Jan. 14, Canadian Prime Minster Justin Trudeau spread the cheer over social media with this video.
A handful of students at the Wilfrid Laurier Brantford Campus were sure to take part in the celebration. Third year concurrent education students Frances Liang and Sai Gnanaharan sat down to talk about their backgrounds, celebrating the first ever Tamil Heritage Month and wearing cultural clothing to clubs.
